We are excited about Isola Design District (Milan Design Week!)
Milan will once again reaffirm itself as the indisputable capital of Design.
Isola Design District – The innovative feature of the next Milan Design Week is the debut of a new design district within the neighborhood of Isola, in the shadow of Bosco Verticale.
From 4th to 9th April 2017 artisans, young designers and emerging brands will be the protagonists of Isola Design District, a local marketing project supported by the Municipality of Milan, where local enterprises are going to be actively involved too, enhancing the historical and artistic heritage of the entire area.
And it goes without saying that DesignWanted will play an important role at the event by supporting the initiative on its international platform.
We are proud and excited about our partnership with the Isola Design District project for many different reasons, but first and foremost because we believe that now more than ever, with this extraordinary location, Milan will once again reaffirm itself as the indisputable capital of Design.
With its controversial and lively history, the now swanky neighborhood of Isola has undergone a huge transformation over the past couple of decades, during which time it has slowly become the cradle for avant-guard ideas, and home to trendy clubs, historical buildings and their mysterious courtyards.
It has always been the cool place to hang out and is even more so now.
And it is by no accident that some of the most renowned architectural projects like Il Bosco Verticale and the futuristic Piazza Gae Aulenti, with the majestic Unicredit Towers and Pavilion are situated right there, a few steps away from the Isola Design District.
The whole area with its roots firmly in the past, and its forward-thinking present is in fact just an outburst of art, innovation and creativity, in the name of beauty and design; everything that we, at DesignWanted, represent.
This very first edition of Design Week in the Isola Design District will showcase exceptional artists and brilliant designers from many different scenes and backgrounds.
During the week, a schedule full of events and workshops in all the locations involved, as the coworking space in via Pastrengo named Yoroom.
The opening day of the Isola Design District will be on April 4th, 2017.
